Kathryn E. (Marsinko) Schmitt

Kathryn E. Schmitt, 90, of Streator, passed away Friday March 16, 2018 at Heritage Health in Streator.
Funeral services for Kathryn Schmitt will be at 11 a.m. Thursday March 22, 2018 at the Elias Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. A visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the Elias Funeral Home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Born June 20, 1927 in Streator, she was the daughter of George and Catherine (Pnakovich) Marsinko, she married Herbert Schmitt on June 29, 1944, he passed away January 25, 2013.
She is survived by her son Randy (Wanda) Schmitt of Streator, grandson Ryan Schmitt of Streator, granddaughter Kayla Schmitt of Las Vegas, NV, sister Nancy (David) Hayes of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Herbert, brother Edward Marsinko and several sister in laws and brother in laws.
Kathryn attended St. Stephe’s Grade School, Streator Township High School and Brown’s Business College, she was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church now St. Michael the Archangel Parish and loved baking traditional Slovak dishes for her family.
