Donald A. “Potsie” Smith, 60, of Streator, passed away Monday November 19, 2018 in Streator.
Funeral services for Potsie will be at 1 p.m. Sunday November 25th at the Elias Funeral Home. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Riverview Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Garrison, Bob Scarbeary, Dave Namchick, Wayne Maltas, Joel Smith, Luke Smith, Mark Smith, Eric Mikolajczyk, Tony Flanery, Marc Lamango, Bruce Halco, Kyle Talty and Joe Mehalic. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday at the Elias Funeral Home.
Born November 15, 1958 in Streator, he was the son of Carl and Shirley (Larsen) Smith.
He is survived by his daughter Katie Smith of Streator, and her mother Victoria Appel, siblings William (Marnie) Smith, Richard (Wendy) Smith both of Ottawa and Barb (Ron) Mikolajczyk of Ransom, He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frank Edward Smith.
He attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator Township High School in 1976, he was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Sandy Ford Club and Lazy Acers.
Potsie loved to go fishing and hunting, and his family and friends can rest assured that he is greeted by his best friend Rick “Spickey” Martin..
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
