Derek Marconi Obituary

Derek T. Marconi, 42, of Streator passed away Tuesday February 20, 2018 in Streator. Derek’s wishes were to be cremated and to have no services. The Elias Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Born September 29, 1975 in Streator, he was the son of Joe and Jill (Flavel) Marconi Jr., he married Erin Genseke on May 1, 2013. He is survived by his wife Erin of Streator, children Titus, Diesel and Paige, parents Joe and Jill Marconi of Streator, brother DJ (Erin) Marconi of Streator, niece Macie Marconi of Streator and numerous friends, He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Dick and Ione Flavel, paternal grandparents Joe and Dorothy Marconi Sr., and uncle Craig Flavel. Derek attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator Township High School in 1993, he attended St. Michael the Archangel Parish, was a Union Iron Worker for Local 444 in Joliet and was a member of Lazy Acres. In lieu of flowers, a account has been established at Streator Home Savings Bank in Streator for Titus and Diesel’s education fund.
