Wayne Charles Longnecker

Wayne Charles Longnecker, 72, of Streator, passed away Saturday Nov. 18, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services for Wayne Longnecker will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 22nd at the Elias Funeral Home. Burial with full military rites will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Roudebush, Jerry Longnecker, Ron Schmitt, Dave Schmitt, Lee Yanello, and Nick Yanello. A visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the Elias Funeral Home.
Born September 14, 1945 in Streator, IL, he was the son of Charles and Rolanda (Fleuch) Longnecker. He married Mary Ellen Yanello on October 26, 1989 in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen of Streator, grandson Ryan (Caylee) Roudebush of Peoria, brother Jerry (Nancy) Longnecker of Streator, brother-in-law Joe Yanello of Manville, nephews Jordan Longnecker, Jerrod (Stephanie) Longnecker, Joe (Lisa) Yanello, Lee Yanello and great-nephew’s Nick Yanello, Jerrod L Longnecker II and Jason Longnecker.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step-son William Roudebush of Streator.
Wayne attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator Township High School in 1963, he was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict, he worked at Kroger’s in Streator for over 35 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of Streator Eagles #645.
Wayne loved working in his yard and decorating it for every holiday, he also enjoyed latch work and puzzles.
