Gerald "Jerry" York

Gerald “Jerry” York, 67, of Streator passed away Thurs. Jan 10, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services for Jerry York will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 16th at the Elias Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, serving as pallbearers will be Alan Amell, Jerry York, Sammy Zamudio, Devon York, Lucas York, Noah York, Lucas Maynor and Bryan Rodrick. A visitation will be from 11a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Elias Funeral Home.
Born December 1, 1951 in Jamestown, TN, he was the son of Earl R. and Ina (Lane) York, he married Cheryl Amell August 23, 1978 in Streator.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl of Streator, children Alan Amell of Nashville, TN, Jessica (Sammy) York of Streator, Earlene York of Streator, Jerry (Trisha) York of Streator, Valerie (Jose’) Martinez of Georgia, Tammy (Thomas) Shafer of KY, several grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, siblings Brenda York, Diana (Marvin) Bell, Danny York and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved daughter Eliza York and several brothers and sisters.
He was owner and operator of Streator Taxi for over 10 years, he was a former member of the First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family.
