Elizabeth M. McLaughlin, 87, of Streator, passed away Tuesday December 26, 2017 at her daughters home in Streator.
Funeral services for Betty McLaughlin will be at 11 a.m. Friday January 5, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Pastor William Callister will officiate. Burial will follow the services in Riverview Cemetery, serving as pallbearers will be members of her family and friends. A visitation will be from 9- 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Elias Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Born October 20, 1930 in Streator, IL, she was the daughter of Raymond and Loretta (Dignan) Smith, she married Joseph McLaughlin on May 15, 1951, he passed away May 7, 2004.
She is survived by her children Christine (Frank) Bradish of Streator, Michael (Flora) McLaughlin of Kingsport, TN, Kenneth McLaughlin of Summerville, SC and Kathleen Morris of Streator. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Loretta Broyles of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, brother Ronal Smith and daughter-in-law Reachelle McLaughlin.
She attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator Township High School with the class of 1948.
Betty worked at Tuscora in Streator, was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing cards with her “Owls” group, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
