Edward “Ed” Bedeker, 78, of Streator, passed away Tuesday March 27, 2018 at his home.
A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be at 5 p.m. Monday April 2, 2018 at the Elias Funeral Home, burial will follow the service in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Rural Streator. A visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Monday at the Elias Funeral Home.
Born October 16, 1938 in Streator, IL, he was the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Harty) Bedeker. He married Annie Kuhn October 4, 1958, she passed away October 25, 2017.
He is survived by his daughters Kerrie (Rich) Weber of Ottawa, Kellie (Bill) Dovin of Streator, daughter-in-law Lynn (Mark Sliker) Bedeker of Streator, grandchildren Bridget Weber, Bailey (Brad Minoque) Weber, Rory (Carri) Bedeker, Brady (Bridgett Ann) Bedeker, Shelby Dovin, and great-granddaughter Brynlee Bedeker. He is also survived by brother David (Darlene) Bedeker of Rural Seneca, sister’s and brother’s-in-law Gayleen Bedeker, Mary Lou Bedeker both of Pontiac, Mary (Don) Harstad of Grand Ridge, Edna (Roger) Talty of Ransom, Clarence “Bud” (Norma) Kuhn of Grand Ridge, Ron Hill of Grand Ridge and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, son Joe B., granddaughter Faith Dovin, brothers James, Ronald and Robert Bedeker, sisters Patsy Bedeker, Carol Schmidt and sister-in-law Bonnie Hill.
Ed worked at NICOR Gas of over 25 years and was Road Commissioner for Otter Creek Township for 12 years.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Fields Church in Grand Ridge, and member of the Knights of Columbus in Streator.
Ed loved to go fishing and taking his best bud Gus for a ride in the golf cart. He was a loving father and grandfather and everybody’s best friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
