Darlene M. Helander

Darlene M. Helander, 55, of Pontiac, passed away Monday October 9, 2017 at her home in Pontiac.
A Celebration of Darlene’s Life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday October 14, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints at 303 Bauer Road, Pontiac, IL 61764.
Darlene was born November 1, 1961 in Ottawa, IL, she was the daughter of George and Mable (Legare) Martin.
She is survived by her daughters Brandie (Austin) Carlen of Normal, IL, Heather (Taylor) Steichen of Lemon Grove, CA, grandson Ethan James Carlen.  Also surviving are siblings Diane (John) Nelson, Larry (Julie) Martin, Jim Martin, George (Lisa) Martin, Dale (Jean) Wheaton, June Dawson and Bob Wheaton.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Gary Martin and Jack Wheaton.
She attended local grade schools and attended Streator Township High School.
