Clarence E. Halsne Jr.

Clarence E. Halsne Jr., 90, of Streator, passed away Wednesday October 25, 2017 in Ottawa.
Graveside services will be at 12 noon Thursday November 9, 2017 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Full military rites will be provided. Cremation rites have been accorded, the Elias Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Born March 4, 1927 in Holcomb, IL, he was the son of Clarence and Mildred (Phillips) Halsne Sr. He married Sandy Sliker on May 25, 1985.
He is survived by his wife Sandy of Streator, daughter Kathi Redick, son Clarence Halsne III, step-children Christopher Nielson, Albert Nielson, Kimberly (Thomas) Fredericksen, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchid.  He is also survived by a sister Nancy Dominguez, brothers James and H. Glenn Halsne and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Halsne, Roberta Cox, Richard Halsne, Patricia Jones, Elizabeth Thompson, Marge Marsters and Ellen Lucille Halsne.
He graduated from Rockford High School, after graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Navy serving the the Pacific Theater during W.W.II.
He drove a truck for over 45 years retiring in 1991.
Clarence was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by everyone who new him.
