BiographyIda K. Scott-Chamness, 89, of Streator died Thursday afternoon at Evergreen Place in Streator.
Funeral services for Ida Scott-Chamness will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday from St. Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Streator. Rev. Daniel Stalker will officiate and also conduct graveside services at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Streator. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Humphrey, Randy Humphrey, Tim Armstrong, Todd Armstrong, Tom Armstrong and Eddie Armstrong.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Elias Funeral Home.
Born December 8, 1919 in Gardner, IL, she was the daughter of Carl and Bothilda (Thygesen) Anderson. She married Clifford Scott Sr. in 1940, he died in 1972, she later married Ralph Chamness in 1985, he died in 2006.
She is survived by a son Clifford (Sharon) Scott of Mesa, AZ, daughters Eva M. Humphery of Mesa, AZ, Sharon (David) Yedinak of Streator, step daughters Kathy Williams of Gardner, IL, Nancy Peake of Wonder Lake, IL and son-in-law Tom Armstrong of Streator.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, sister Marie Buford of Elmhurst, IL.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Karen Armstrong of Streator, granddaughter Tammy, son-in-law Ron Armstorng , step-son Richard Chamness and a sister Ruth Bessey of Bloomington, IL.
She attended Gantzert Grade School and graduated from Dwight High School in 1937.
She was a member of St. Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Streator where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Church Choir, Faith Circle and taught at Vacation Bible School.
