Jeffrey M. Rodriguez

Jeffrey M. “Taco” Rodriguez, 50, of Streator, passed away unexpectedly Sat. June 17th at his home.
Funeral services for Jeff Rodriguez will be at 11 a.m. Friday June 23, 2017 at the Elias Funeral Home in Streator.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dan “Curly” Riordan, Ron Weber, Randy Schmitt, T.K. Kennedy, Greg “Willi D” Williams, James “Rambo” Lambert, Ron “Rollo” Rathbun, Kurt Henry, Dennis Bakalar, Joe Berta, Les Berta, Bill Hefler, Rich “Woody” Holloway, Mark Scott and Bob Redd. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. A visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Elias Funeral Home.
Born September 14, 1966 in Peoria, IL, he was the son of Jessie and Juanita (Espinoza) Rodriguez, he married Debbie Turner October 24, 1987 in Streator.
He is survived by his wife, children Jared (Ashley), Jace and Jenna Rodriguez all of Streator, grandson Atlas Rodriguez, his parents Jess and Juanita of Streator, brothers Jay, John, Joe (Stephanie) Rodriguez, sister Jackie (Jeff) Yacko and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son Jake, mother-in-law Joan Turner, brother-in-law Ronald Yuhas, sister-in-law Susan Rodriguez, nephew Nate Lyons and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jeff graduated from Streator Township High School in 1984 and attended I.V.C.C.  He owned and operated Streator Cash Express and was a union insulator for Local 92.  He was a member of the Streator Eagles, Knights of Columbus Elks Lodge and former member of the Streator Country Club.
Jeff was all about his famil and friends.  He was a terrific father and a awesome grandpa to Atlas.  He has been married for 30 years and was a great provider for his family.  He loved to cook and loved Mexican food the most.  He was also a sports lover rooting for his favorite teams, the Cubs and Bears.  Jeff was a fun seeker and was always ready for a party, concert or any adventure.  His current passions was establishing a fund for the Streator River Rescue.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family or the River Rescue fund.
