Grace McGurk

Grace M. McGurk, 92, of Streator, passed away Saturday May 27, 2017 at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa.
A visitation for Grace McGurk will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday May 31, 2017 at the Elias Funeral Home in Streator.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, cremation rites will be accorded after the services, burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be her sons Pat, Mick and Tom McGurk, grandchildren Nick, McGurk, James McGurk and Cali Rodgers.  Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren Maggie McGurk, Sean McGurk, Ashlyn Rodgers and Bridget McGurk.
Born November 7, 1924 in Streator, she was the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Martin) Bellis, she married Bernard Mc Gurk June 5, 1946, he passed away June 10, 1994.
She is survived by her sons Patrick (Linda) McGurk of Streator, Michael McGurk of Streator and Thomas McGurk of Montreal, Canada, grandchildren Nick (Kathleen) McGurk, Sheila (Cory) Rodgers and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bernard in June of 1994 and 11 siblings.
Grace was a graduate of Streator Township High School, she was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church, she worked at Sunstar Foods as a lab tech for several years, she was a loving mother and grandmother, she loved to cook and pass on her Slovack recipes to her family.  She had a good run!!!
