Glenn A. “Lanny” Loving, 65, of Rural Streator passed away Monday June 26, 2017 at the Ottawa Pavilion. A Celebration of Glenn’s life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday July 2, 2017 at the Elias Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the Elias Funeral Home with additional visitation from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born July 23, 1951 in Springfield, IL, he was the son of J.C. and Jean (Workman) Loving. He married Elizabeth Brandes on June 17, 1978.
He is survived by his wife Beth of rural Streator, daughters Kara (Steven) Doehling of South Korea, Camille (Jake Holmbeck) Loving of Sycamore and Casey Loving of LaSalle, grandchildren Riley and Reagan Doehling. Also surviving are sisters Lee (Gayle) Hoffman, Jan (Roger) Bristow, brother Greg Loving, sisters-in-law Kathy Loving, Chris Kratzer, Barb Mason, Berta (Mark) Richards, many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack, a sister in infancy and in-laws Bob and Sue Brandes.
He graduated from Normal Community High School in 1969 and attended Illinois State University. Lanny was a farmer, welder, photographer and artist. He was also employed at Knoedlers and Streator Dependable and was a member of the Ransom Lions Club, LaSalle County Soil and Water Conservation District, LaSalle County Farm Bureau and a 4-H project leader. He also continued the family tradition of Loving Touch Brittle with his wife and daughters for 35 years.
Memorials may be directed to the Glacier National Park Conservancy or the donor’s choice.
